Superfood for the Skin!

Avocado is rich in healthy fats, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that can benefit the skin. It hydrates and moisturizes dry skin, improves skin texture and elasticity, reduces inflammation, and promotes healthy aging. Avocado is a great source of nutrients for the skin, including vitamins C and E, which is the component responsible for reducing inflammation and promoting healthy collagen production. It's also packed with potassium, sodium, magnesium, vitamins A, C, and K, folic acid, vitamin B6, and niacin.

Avocado oil (Persea Americana Oil), traditionally was used by the Mexican and South American people to protect their skin from the elements. Today avocado oil is a carrier oil for the skin and is a great choice for people who suffer from eczema, acne, seborrheic dermatitis, or psoriasis. Aari Body's Avocado silk body butter is a great choice for people looking for the benefits of avocado oil, plus the soothing and calming effects of other ingredients added for overall healthy skin. When looking to purchase Avocado oil, look for products that are organic, unrefined, and cold-pressed. Pure avocado oil has a dark green hue, refined oils are lighter green in texture. The reason for choosing unrefined cold-pressed oil is to get the most nutrients and benefits from the oil. With any new ingredient you try, always do a patch test first to ensure you aren't allergic.

Here's a quick avocado face mask:

-1 Tablespoon unrefined Avocado Oil

-1 Tablespoon packed brown sugar or fine castor sugar

-1/4 Teaspoon organic Turmeric Powder

Mix the oil, sugar, and turmeric powder in a small bowl. Apply to clean face in a circular motion avoiding the eyes. Rinse well and pat dry with a towel. Follow up with a good facial moisturizer!

Below are some companies that have unrefined pure Avocado Oil for the skin:

Mountain Rose Herbs (a bit on the pricey side)

Sweet Essentials
